Input to Calnic C

Calnic C expects a pair of direct and grism FITS images as input. The location of these files must either be specified by full pathnames (if they don't

reside in the working directory from where Calnic C was called) or in the directory specified by the environment variable, CNC_DATA. Alternatively, it is possible to run Calnic C on a series of direct/grism FITS pairs that are listed in a plain ASCII file, one pair per line.
In the $CALNICC_BASE/data directory there are two pairs of sample data files. The file called niclist contains the file name pairs (one for each line) of these sample fits files. This is an example of how to construct an input file for running Calnic C with the -f option. For example, to extract spectra from all of the provided sample images, type
calnicc -f $CALNICC_BASE/data/niclist
Appendix G contains example output of one of these image pairs.
