"Re-processing of HST FOS Data"

Abstract
The POA project team has been performing a comprehensive review
of HST's FOS calibration. Our efforts have produced a
refurbishment of the old IRAF/STSDAS FOS calibration pipeline,
'calfos'; the new pipeline, 'poa_calfos' can be installed as
the IRAF external package called STPOA. This document describes
the relevant efforts undertaken by our group in order to
achieve a smooth integration of poa_calfos into the existing
environment. In particular we address: the new "header
keywords" added to the processing steps; working with GIES
group parameters;the necessity to update calibration reference
files; the modification to the output products; and,
compatability issues with the FOS data structure expected by
FOS data analysis tools. The scheme for a grand re-processing
using poa_calfos on the 24136 FOS data sets in the archive is
reviewed.
