Hack CoI_Institution: STScI Contact: N Abstract: This proposal will observe the primary spectrophotometric standard star GD153 through a selection of filters designed to give good wavelength coverage and to be a representative sampling of the filters used by GOs in Cycles 4-6. The filters checked are: F120M, F152M, F140W, F175W, F220W, F253M, F275W, F342W, F430W, F470M, F480LP, F550M. Questions ! Free format text (clear and concise) Observing_Description: To measure the throughput of the OTA + FOC we shall image the UV-optical spectrophotometric standard GD153 through a sampling of F/96 filters used by GOs and GTOs during Cycles 4-6. The filters have been precisely calibrated at the unit level. As we know their transmisison characteristics accurately, and we know the flux of the standard star, we can determine the sensitivity of the OTA + FOC from the observed FOC photon counts. The throughput must be evaluated at a number of different wavelengths. The results will be compared to those obtained in earlier cycles where possible to check for any degradation of sensitivity. In cases where we see significant deviations from the overall relation, we will warn observers of a possible discrepancy between the predicted filter transmissions and those observed. Real_Time_Justification: An INT ACQ is required to place the standard star at the optimum position in the 256X256 FOC format. The small format is needed in order to obtain the best possible S/N and linearity.
