A 15-minute period was found in both data sets that may be the rotational period or pulsation of the white dwarf. In addition, several transient phenomena are detected that may be evidence of flickering in the system or to quasdi-periodic oscillations. In this proposal we will obtain time-resolved low-resolution spectroscopy of Nova Cyg 1992 with the FOS. Our data will span the entire 2-hour binary orbital period. We will phase our observations accordingly which will allow us to distinguish between variations related to the irradiated binary and those related to physical conditions close to or on the white dwarf. We will also search for variability in the continuum and UV emission lines. Similar data have already been obtained on the classical nova GQ Mus as part of a GO program. We will collaborate with the GO on this proposal who is also at UW and compare our results on Nova Cyg with those for GQ Mus.
