Free format text (clear and concise) This proposal will use a dithered series of images of a isolated non-polarized point-source to determine the PSF characteristics through the F342W in combination with each of the polarizer filters on the FOC. Questions ! Free format text (clear and concise) Observing_Description: A faint (V~19) random star in the Omega Cen photometric field used by the WFPC2 will be observed in the 256X256 format. This star, although faint, requires the small format in order to maintain linearity as no NDs will be used for these observations since the polarizer filters are on the same filter wheel as the NDs. After an INT ACQ in order to properly acquire the star, a F342W image will be taken. This will be used for comparison with the following images taken with each of the POL filters in combination with the F342W filter. Three images will be taken with each filter combination, each 0.2" apart in order to separate out effects not due to the POL filters themselves (such as breathing, flat-field, and pattern noise effects). A second visit will observe LK-HA-233, a polarization standard nebula, to provide details of the polarization angles and throughputs with from a polarized source. This visit will REMAIN ON HOLD unless the Cycle 4 observations are not made. Real_Time_Justification: The use of the 256X256 format requires a INT ACQ in order to place the target in the field of view.
