Spectra are then obtained with the 0.1-PAIR aperture, G190H, and the Pt-Ne lamp. The high-voltage is then varied in 200 volt increments +/- 600 volts from the nominal setting with spectra taken at each setting. This will allow for optimal focus determination. Once a optimal HV setting is determined and updates made to the PDB, a series of spectra at three different X-Bases will be made to determine the corresponding X-Pitch. Additionally, measurements with the TALEDs through the 0.1-Pair aperture will be used to determine Y-Pitch. This program may result in an instruction flow change to the detector high voltage setting, the x-pitch value, the y-pitch value. This program must be run in early Cycle 5 because the focus is sensitive to external magnetic fields. The 3 runs are to be scheduled 6 months apart. Questions Observing_Description: After high voltage warm-up, o set the trim current to zero, o repeat the following observations for 7 HV settings: (Note: each individual sequence should completed within 2 days). o set the HV o 1st HV setting: 22.66(blue) or 21.6(red) o settings 2-6: Increase HV by 200V until the max voltage is 23.86(blue) or 22.8(red) o wait 1 minute, o Obtain a spectra with the following configuration: 0.1-PAIR lower aperture grating G190H 8 x-steps 1 y-step Pt-Ne lamp/ direct These observations MUST occur during non-SAA impacted orbits. If a change to the optimum HV setting is determined from the procedure described above, and updated to the PDB, a series of exposures will be required to calculate the new X-Pitch and Y-Pitch values for the optimal HV setting. o Obtain a series of three spectra with the following configuration: 0.1-PAIR lower aperture grating G190H 8 x-steps 1 y-step Pt-Ne lamp/direct at three different X-BASEs. o Then obtain a map of the photocathode with the following configuration: 0.1-PAIR lower aperture camera mirror 1 x-step 85 y-step TALED These observations MUST occur during non-SAA impacted orbits. The X-Pitch and Y-Pitch measurement observations have been flagged as COND ON IF HV UPDATED. We will determine the need to execute these lines after the first set of observations have been obtained. The first run should be run at the beginning of Cycle 5 because the focus is sensitive to external magnetic fields. The tests should be run 6 months apart. This test is not stray light sensitive. All observations are internal Pt-Ne and TALED lamp measurements. Data reduction will be performed at the ST ScI. This program will determine the correct detector high voltage, x-pitch, and y-pitch values to be used in obtaining data, and this information will need to be updated after any change is measured.
