    line_1:        Nonlinearity of count rate an important instrumental characteristic of the
    line_2:        FOC and affects many of its observations. The Intensity Transfer Function
    line_3:        for flat fields was well studied in two SV calibration programs. Nevertheless,
    line_4:        it has been over three years and it is quite possible that the ITF curves
    line_5:        have changed significantly in that time. Since these ITF curves form the
    line_6:        basis for virtually all our methods of determining the amount of nonlinearity
    line_7:        (even for point sources) it is important to verify that there have been
    line_8:        significant changes. The original SV proposals covered 4 different formats;
    line_9:        this proposal will use only two formats: the 512x512 and the 512 zoomed x
    line_10:       1024 formats. Like the SV proposals, the ITF is measured by taking exposures
    line_11:       using the onboard LEDs at increasing levels of illumination. All observations
    line_12:       are to be carried out in parallel mode.

    line_1:        Sequences of images are taken using the internal LED as a flat field source at
    line_2:        a variety of different intensity levels to cover both the linear and saturated
    line_3:        parts of the intensity transfer function. As the calibration of the LED
    line_4:        intensity is accurately known, the linearity of the detector can be determined.
    line_5:        This sequence of images will comprise 6-9 LED exposures at different levels,
    line_6:        and will have to be repeated for 2 different camera formats because linearity
    line_7:        is format dependent.
