We will measure emission lines of C III, line_8: Si III, C IV, Si IV, and N V in deep specta. Upper line_9: limits to the strength of these emission lines will place line_10: stringent constraints on possible nonradiative heating line_11: processes. Observations of weak intersystem lines will line_12: provide estimates of the electron density needed for line_13: atmospheric modeling. We will attempt to determine whether line_14: the hot plasma (and the required heating) are global or line_15: isolated to small regions on the star due to magnetic fields line_16: or stochastic heating processes. Echelle resolution Mg II and line_17: O I emission profiles will be used for stellar wind modeling. line_18: G140L exposures are returned to the proposal to detect weak high line_19: temperature lines. We will search for evidence line_4:of emission lines of CIII, Si III, C IV, Si IV, and N V in very deep line_5:HRS spectra. Upper limits to the strength of these emission lines line_6:will place stringent constraints on the amount of hot plasma in the line_7:outer atmospheres of these stars and thus on the nonradiative line_8:heating processes.
