abstract:

    line_1:        This is an FOC engineering program needed to test the 
    line_2:        stored commanding bright object protection. This commanding 
    line_3:        checks if the filters as specified in the proposal
    line_4:        are indeed moved into the optical path. 
    line_5:        (note: this bright object protection will *NOT* protect
    line_6:        against wrong filter specification on the proposal)
    line_7:        If the expected filters are not in place, the FOC is 
    line_8:        safed. However, a safing event is not expected during the 
    line_9:        on-board test. Since the protection consists of checking the 
    line_10:        filters, DARK exposures are suitable for the purpose of the
    line_11:        test.  The selected filter configurations have actually been
    line_12:        used in "Bright Object" proposals.
