The high line_3: angular resolution of HST will allow one to perform a number of line_4: quantitative measurements of the morphology and luminosities of host line_5: galaxies. The proposed HST observations line_6: will reveal the relationship between the properties of the host line_7: galaxy and quasar luminosity (both optical and radio), and how line_8: quasar host galaxies differ from field or cluster galaxies. line_9: The sample consists of 13 quasars with z < 0.3, M_V < -23 line_10: (Ho = 100), and |b| > 35. Each quasar will be imaged in a Wide line_11: Field Camera CCD through the F606W filter. The objects in this line_12: proposal span a range of quasar luminosities (up to M_V of -24.5; line_13: Ho = 100) and redshifts (0.09 < z < 0.265).
