abstract:

    line_1:        It is proposed to explore at high spatial and moderate
    line_2:        spectral resolution the circumstellar shell around Nova Cyg
    line_3:        1992.The study will be conducted using the medium and narrow
    line_4:        band FOC filters centered on bright nebular emission features
    line_5:        of magnesium,carbon and oxygen to obtain the shell position
    line_6:        and morphology. A near UV prism will allow for the first time
    line_7:        to obtain the spectrum of the shell itself without the
    line_8:        stellar contamination in order to determine precisely its
    line_9:        chemical composition.This is a time critical observation
    line_10:       since the shell will very quickly fade to invisibility within
    line_11:       6 months.
