abstract:

    line_1:        FGS CHARACTERIZATION
    line_2:        The primary goal of this proposal is to calibrate the plate scale
    line_3:        in the astrometer FGS in association with the Optical Field Angle
    line_4:        Distortion calibration, for FGS POSitional Mode observations.
    line_5:        This proposal uses pairs of stars observed by the ESA astrometry
    line_6:        satellite HIPPARCOS. Note that this test, unlike the Intermediate
    line_7:        Plate Scale Calibration, provides an average determination of the
    line_8:        plate scale in the large.
