abstract:

    line_1:        It is proposed to take images of the Pluto-Charon system
    line_2:        using the new f/96 camera of the FOC. This will
    line_3:        give the best resolved image of this outermost planet
    line_4:        in the solar system, the only one of the outer planets that
    line_5:        has not been visited by the Voyager probes. Pluto will
    line_6:        subtend approximately 10 pixels across at f/151, while
    line_7:        Charon, separated from Pluto by about 30 pixels, will be
    line_8:        5 pixels across. The image will add important new
    line_9:        information to the data already obtained with the FOC
    line_10:       improving our knowledge ofthe surface features of the
    line_11:       two bodies.
