abstract:

    line_1:        The FOS will be used with small apertures to map the stellar velocity
    line_2:        dispersion and rotation in the central 1" of NGC4486, NGC4472 and NGC6251.
    line_3:        The velocity dispersion maps will be used to discriminate between the large
    line_4:        M/Ls required by massive black holes, velocity anisotropy, and isothermal
    line_5:        velocity distributions. Line strengths will be used to measure changes in the
    line_6:        stellar population in the central 1".
