This is now the default target acquisition line_4: mode. A successful test of this capability has permitted line_5: another important new capability to be implemented--the line_6: SSA PEAKUP. The SSA PEAKUP allows for centering of a target line_7: in the SSA--this capability had been lost due to the line_8: spherically-aberrated PSF being much larger than the SSA. line_9: Now, by using the return to brightest point algorithm, a line_10: spiral search of small size will be used to 'find' the line_11: center of the target image and place it in the center of line_12: the SSA. The placement within the SSA is critical-- line_6: an uncertainty of only 4 deflections step (about half line_7: the size of the SSA) results in a fifty percent reduction line_8: in throughput.
