abstract:

    line_1:        Two interacting binaries with accretion disks have been
    line_2:        selected to determine the nature of the stellar components,
    line_3:        and mass flow characteristics of the systems. These objects
    line_4:        are the well-known x-ray binaries Sco X-1 and HZ Her. GHRS
    line_5:        observations with the medium resolution G160M grating will
    line_6:        be used to provide superior signal-to-noise and resolution
    line_7:        than presently available using IUE.
