The Throughput of the F/96 line_2: was extensively measured during SV. This proposal repeats some of those line_3: measurements to verify that the throughput of the F/96 relay is not changing. line_4: Since the far UV part of the F/96 throughput is already being regularly line_5: monitored by an observatory level proposal, this proposal only checks those line_6: filters with longer wavelengths. Six medium band filters, chosen to span the line_7: rest of the F/96 wavelength range, are used. They are: F253M, F307M, F346M, line_8: F410M, and F550M. The proposal is carried out very much in the same way as line_9: SV proposal 1511 except that no interactive acquisitions will be used. ! ! end of abstract general_form_proposers: lname: PARESCE fname: FRANCESCO title: DR. inst: SPACE TELESCOPE SCIENCE INSTITUTE country: USA ! ! end of general_form_proposers block general_form_text: question: 3 section: 1 line_1: To measure the throughput of the OTA + FOC we shall image UV-optical line_2: spectrophotometric standards through a limited sampling of F/96 medium line_3: band filters. The filters have been precisely calibrated at the line_4: unit level. As we know their transmisison characteristics line_5: accurately, and we know the flux of the standard star, we can determine line_6: the sensitivity of the OTA + FOC from the observed FOC photon counts. line_7: The throughput must be evaluated at a number of different wavelengths. line_8: The results will be compared to those obtained for the same filters from line_9: SV proposal 1511. ! question: 5 section: 1 line_1: Prerequisites: None ! question: 6 section: 1 line_1: This test is stray-light sensitive with an allowable background of 21 line_2: mv/arcsec2. ! !end of general form text general_form_address: lname: PARESCE fname: FRANCESCO title: DR. category: PI inst: SPACE TELESCOPE SCIENCE INSTITUTE addr_1: 3700 SAN MARTIN DRIVE city: BALTIMORE state: MD zip: 21218 country: USA phone: 301-338-4823 telex: 684-9101-STSCI ! ! end of general_form_address records fixed_targets: targnum: 1 name_1: BPM16274 name_2: GSC8037-364 descr_1: A,120,J,702 pos_1: RA=0H 50M 3.40S +/- 0.1S, pos_2: DEC=-52D 08' 15.5" +/- 1", pos_3: PLATE-ID=02PU equinox: 2000 fluxnum_1: 1 fluxval_1: V=14.20, TYPE=DA2 ! ! end of fixed targets !
