abstract:

line_1: GHRS moderate resolution spectra of the enigmatic object, V Sge, will be
line_2: obtained. IUE data have tentatively shown redshifted emission at ~700 km/s.
line_3: The GHRS observations will be used to a) confirm the redshift, and b) to
line_4: obtain details of the accreting gas which are not visible at the signal-to
line_5: noise and resolution of the IUE spectra.

  question: 3
    section: 1
line_1: The observations of V Sge will be made on two visits, separated by at least
line_2: 30 days. During the first visit we will observe the N V, SI IV, C IV, He II
line_3: and Mg II emission lines. The second visit, which will consist of an
line_4: observation at C IV only will be used to search for phase-dependent
line_5: changes in the redshift of the C IV emission.
