abstract:

    line_1:        We are going to obtain FOC images of the field centered on SN
    line_2:        1987A in the Large Magellanic Cloud. The observations will be
    line_3:        made in the FOC/96 configuration with filters F175W and F501N
    line_4:        aiming at detecting and studying the SN ejecta proper as
    line_5:        well as at determining the distribution and characteristics of
    line_6:        the circumstellar material which is mainly made of stellar wind shed
    line_7:        by Sk -69 202 in both red supergiant and blue supergiant phases
    line_8:        before the explosion.
    line_10:       These observations are similar to some of those which will be
    line_11:       carried out in cycle 0 under GTO program # 1259-GTO/FOC
    line_12:       "Observations of Supernovae", P.I. F.D. Macchetto.
