abstract:

    line_1:        Saturn's diameter of 19.4 arcsec at the July 14, 1990
    line_2:        opposition allows the disk to fit comfortably inside
    line_3:        the FOC/96 extended field of view.  Although the Voyager
    line_4:        images of Saturn showed little structure, we believe that
    line_5:        NUV images will show much more structure, in a similar way
    line_6:        to that in which the UV images of Venus taken by Pioneer
    line_7:        showed dramatic detail.  A series of 5-minute integrations
    line_8:        will minimize the smearing caused by the rapid rotation of
    line_9:        the planet's equatorial regions, while still allowing the
    line_10:       accumulation of sufficient signal to show structural
    line_11:       details.  A 'movie' of the pictures can be produced.
