The basic line_2: philosophy is to take three exposures of a rich stellar field and control the line_3: displacement of the individual exposures with the FGS to obtain the plate scale line_4: and its variation over the FOV. line_5: To achieve adequate coverage, the 512 x 1024 format (square pixels, 8-bit) is line_6: used. line_7: All observations are cycle 0. line_8: NOTE TO SCHEDULER: The sequences in lines 1-6, 15-20, and 29-31 on the exposure line_9: log sheet are to be carried out IN ORDER and with minimum gap between individual line_10: exposures. We require good geometric stability from the FOC for these sequences, line_11: hence we have interleaved internal LEDs with the stellar exposures to allow us line_12: to monitor stability during our subsequent analysis.
