    line_1:         i)  Initially it is necessary to confirm the spectrographic slit position by
    line_2:             placing a target in the slit.  The target selected is a G-star in NGC 188.
    line_3:             The acquisition procedure calls for an image to be taken with this star
    line_4:             adjacent to the spectrographic fingers in mode I.  The appropriate slew
    line_5:             can then be made to locate the star within the spectrographic slit in real
    line_6:             time.  A series of images should then be taken to maximize the probability
    line_7:             of correctly finding the slit position.
