Lupie, R. Bohlin and A. Holm. line_7: This program has the highest priority. Phases I to III must be completed line_8: before attempting observations of any other stellar targets. line_10: This program will result in a data base change to the table of aperture line_11: locations. line_13: Revised by S. Falgout at the direction of L. Nagel to match the Implemen- line_14: tation Plan. ! ! end of abstract general_form_proposers: lname: HARMS fname: RICHARD inst: ARC country: USA ! lname: ANGEL fname: ROGER inst: UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA country: USA ! lname: BARTKO fname: FRANK inst: ARC country: USA ! lname: MARGON fname: BRUCE inst: UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON country: USA ! lname: DAVIDSEN fname: ARTHUR inst: JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY country: USA ! lname: BOHLIN fname: RALPH inst: SPACE TELESCOPE SCIENCE INSTITUTE country: USA ! lname: FORD fname: HOLLAND inst: SPACE TELESCOPE SCIENCE INSTITUTE country: USA ! lname: BEAVER fname: EDWARD inst: UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, SAN DIEGO country: USA ! lname: BURBIDGE fname: MARGARET inst: UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, SAN DIEGO country: USA ! ! end of general_form_proposers block general_form_text: question: 2 section: 0 line_1: See abstract. ! question: 3 section: 0 line_1: Phase II of Aperture Locations will provide the coarse V2 V3 location of the line_2: 4.3 arcsec acquisition aperture, a coarse plate scale, and the coarse line_3: orientation of the Digicons about the V1 axis. The technique is to move a star line_4: on a 12 x 12 arcsec grid in 3 arcsec steps. An aperture map line_5: will be taken at each step in the grid. The step size insures that at least line_6: 1-4 of the aperture maps will have the star present, if the line_7: center of the grid is close enough to the actual position. line_8: An aperture map of the FOS TALED should precede the grid line_9: step and dwell. These observations should result in our line_10: knowledge of the aperture location to within 0.3". line_12: If the star does not appear on any point of the grid, repeat using a 20 x 20 line_13: arcsec grid and 3 arcsec steps. ! question: 5 section: 0 line_1: SV Prerequisites: line_3: Fine Y-base measurements (Prop. 2188) performed at least 4 days line_4: prior to this test. line_6: Spatial scans are in spacecraft/aperture coordinates. line_7: The dwell times on the Spatial Scan Form are determined as line_8: follows: line_10: SI Overhead: line_11: .....Dump UDL log 30s line_12: .....BEG/END ACQ 15s line_13: .....Exposure Time: 20s (R), 45s (B) line_14: .....Slew Time: 15s line_16: Record the FGS encoder values at each dwell point in the line_17: spatial scan. line_19: Pointing stability of 10% of the smallest aperture used (4.3") - 0.43" - line_20: is required. line_22: All observations in this program MUST occur in non-SAA impacted orbits. ! question: 6 section: 0 line_1: Data reduction will be performed at the ST ScI, using FOS IDT computer line_2: hardware. The results of this aperture location calibration are relevant to line_3: the project data base, so that the priority is very high. Data from Phases I - line_4: III must be reduced before any other observations using stellar targets can be line_5: attempted. ! !end of general form text general_form_address: lname: HARMS fname: RICHARD category: PI inst: APPLIED RESEARCH CORPORATION addr_1: 8201 CORPORATE DRIVE, addr_2: SUITE 920 city: LANDOVER state: MD zip: 20785 country: USA phone: (301) 459-8442 ! ! end of general_form_address records fixed_targets: targnum: 1 name_1: NGC-188-031 name_2: GSSS4619-2765 descr_1: STAR IN NGC 188 pos_1: RA=00H 40M 03.20S +/- 0.01S, pos_2: DEC=+84D 55' 25.61" +/- 0.02", pos_3: PLATE-ID=ZZZZ equinox: 1950 pm_or_par: Y pos_epoch_yr: 1950.00 ra_pm_val: -0.000247 ra_pm_unct: 0.000027 dec_pm_val: -0.0088 dec_pm_unct: 0.0005 fluxnum_1: 1 fluxval_1: V=15.08 fluxnum_2: 2 fluxval_2: B=15.72 ! ! end of fixed targets !
