abstract:

    line_1:        We propose to study the colour magnitude diagram in a selected region of M31
    line_2:        that has a reasonable stellar column density corresponding to a surface
    line_3:        brightness 23.5v mag/sq arc sec in order to compare numbers of stars with
    line_4:        different ages and make deductions about the past history of star formation.
