Observations of relative line_5: positions are intrinsically more accurate than absolute line_6: positions, because of the global nature of the latter. line_7: Crossing points provide a means of bringing the relative line_8: positional accuracy to bear on global problems. The line_9: technique is being applied to small minor planets to line_10: provide a more accurate coordinate system, to study small line_11: effects in the gravitational field of the solar system, and line_12: to look for differences between a dynamical (inertial) line_13: and extragalactic reference frame.
