The purpose of Calnic C to provide the user with a robust extraction of spectra from the grism images. Further analysis of the spectra is up to the user. However, in order to select appropriate spectra for further investigation, it is useful to characterize the spectra with a few simple parameters. For that purpose, Calnic C attempts to identify the continuum emission, find emission and absorption lines and broad spectral features for all extracted spectra. Gaussian fit parameters of up to five lines within the spectrum, the average of the continuum at wavelengths longer and shorter than the wavelength of the lines, and the significance of broad absorption line features are provided in the output catalogue.
