Abstract The proposed research is a search for planets of nearby stars. The technique involves use of the Planetary Camera with narrow and wide band pass filters to photometrically measure the presence of resolved dark companions. The exposures are calculated to provide 70000 electrons per pixel at 1.2 arcsec from the target stars. Multiple exposures will be required. This proposal describes observations of Epsilon Eridani only for early scheduling. Description of proposed observations. Only nearby stars will be observed. Except for Priority IV targets, repeated observations at specified intervals will be required to determine whether faint background objects are companions. Two or three color filters will be used to differentiate between faint cool stars and planets. This time should be split between W. Fastie, D. Schroeder, J. Implementation Notes from Peg Stanley: There are 3 visits in this proposal. The goal is to get on the same pixel in visits 2 and 3 as in 1. For this reason, I have changed the aperture name to the fixed aperture and have changed the observer's EARLY ACQ on lines 229 and 329 to INT ACQ (the observer incorrectly thought the early acq could be handled quickly). Original specification of EARLY ACQ FOR and USE THE SAME GUIDE STARS would not work.
