Abstract The principal objective is to measure the location of the f/96 aperture with respect to the V2V3 coordinate frame. This will check that the FOC to FGS alignment has not been disturbed by the Servicing Mission activities. The orientation of the detector and the reseaux axes with respect to the V2V3 axes will be used to update the PDB if necessary. Use Mode III pointing to acquire the selected NGC 188 astrometric field. A dwell scan sequence is then initiated, yielding a further eight exposures at suitable offsets from the nominal target area, with appropriate overlap of the images. The final exposure returns to the nominal position to confirm the position of the 512 x 512 with respect to the extended format. The sequence begins and ends with an "intflat" exposure for tracking image distortion. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4. Justification of need for HST observations. The observations are required to determine the orientation of the detector and the reseaux axes with respect to the ST V2V3 axes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 5.
