Scientific Justification. This is the WFPC 2 image quality and stability check. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 3. Description of proposed observations. Using a star field in NGC188, a single ~2000 second image will be obtained followed by an orbit where multiple images are taken over ~2000 second. Using F502N, one CR-SPIT 2000s exposure with 15 electrons gain is taken yielding a worst case 0.5 full well for a 15th magnitute target. Then a series of 10 1 sec F555W exposures are taken each separated by 240 sec (yielding about half the count rates). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 5.
