Abstract R136 is the bright central object of the 30 Doradus nebula. HST images with WFPC and FOC have resolved it into a tight cluster of several dozen stars, whose brightness and colors imply hot, massive, early type stars. This proposals defines GHRS UV spectra of the two brightest members. It is to be performed during cycle 4, with COSTAR in place, and assuming that side 1 of the GHRS is reactivated. Grating G140L will be used to record 1200 - 1760 A with a S/N=30 in the continuum. Description of previous HST work. GTO proposal 1188 in cycle 0 recorded the composite spectrum of R136 using G140L and the LSA. We also obtained LSA image mode maps with both N1 and N2, and measured the relative brightnesses of the components. Proposal 3210 in cycle 2 also provided N2 LSA images. All of these data were used to estimate the count rates for the individual components being observed with this proposal. The offset from component A1 to A3 was verified using the N2 LSA maps.
