Justification of need for HST observations. Spatial resolution needed to record spectra of ejecta without contamination from central object and nearby nebulosity. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 7. Data reduction and analysis plans. The FOS spectra will be processed with standard techniques using either RSDP or IDT facilities. Emission lines will be analyzed with respect to fluxes, line profiles, and radial velocities. Corrections for extinction will be applied where appropriate. The various ionization stages of nitrogen will be studied to estimate the abundance. Presently undetected lines of Carbon and Oxygen will be searched for, and fluxes, or at least upper limits, will be determined. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 9. Description of previous HST work. An early set of WFC and PC images were obtained in cycle 0 as part of GTO proposal 1186. Our preliminary analyses were described in the proceedings of the STScI wrkshop on mass loss, and in a poster paper at the Atlanta AAS meeting in January, 1992. GHRS spectra of the S Condensation have been proposed for cycle 2.
