Scientific Justification. The GHRS digicons require several internal calibrations to be performed periodically. The full set of calibrations will be run as part of SMOV to verify the internal stability of the SI. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 3. Description of proposed observations. This test includes a complete photoscan map, a mask scan and a top/bottom scan. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 5. Description of special scheduling requirements. PREREQUISITE: The GHRS Detector 2 Initial Operations (proposal 4753). (This proposal should be completed before attempting any external target acquisitions. The first prop in timeline to use GHRS target acquisitions is the FOCAL PLANE ALIGNMENT CHECK - 4728.) Exposure times were specified based on measured count rates with the internal flat field lamps, and the requirement to obtain approximately 10000 counts per diode. There are no external targets, and no special pointing requirements. All of these observations could be scheduled as interleavers.
