Abstract This test provides long term detector sensitivity measurement for the 4 HSP IDT detectors. The test measures the sensitivity of the IDT's to light from two calibration targets. Two targets are chosen to establish a calibration to existing HSP data. The program collects area scan data on both the finding aperture and a F240W aperture for the UV1 and VIS detectors, an F248M filter for the UV2 detector and for a F327M filter on the POL detector. Description of proposed observations. This test provides long term detector sensitivity calibrations for the four HSP IDT's. The calibrations data are in the form of area scans of the detector finding aperture and a 1.0" aperture on a bandpass near 240 nm, with the exception of POL which where a 327nm bandpass is used for improved throughput. The calibration is to be run concurently on two objects for three visits and an additional 2 visits on the primary calibration target. The overlapping calibrations are provided to allow correlation of the collected data with archived HSP calibrations, and extend the time correlation to mid-1991. The apertures to be tested are: 1. UV1: F240W 2. UV2: F248M 3. VIS: F240W 4. POL: F327/POL90 The two calibration stars will be placed in the finding aperture where an onboard target acquisition will take place. After the target acquisition a 29x29 area scan of the finding aperture will be made. The target will then be placed in the appropriate 1.0" aperture where a 29x29 area scan will be taken. This sequence will be repeated 3 times for both detectors space about two months apart. The primary calibration target will then be observed by itself for another 9 repeats. The proposed test will require approximately ?? minutes of data collection time per detector. Pointing Stability: Coarse track is understood to provide better than 19 milliarcsec stability. That is satisfactory for all observations in the 10" and 1.0" IDT apertures. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 7. Data reduction and analysis plans. The data reduction and analysis consist of determining the flux of the target through each of the two apertures. In addition the flux through the 1.0" apertures will be corrected for pointing errors observed in the area scan. This correction allows for calibration curve for perfect pointing to be established for each IDT. In addition differences between changes in the broadband sensitivity and the narrow band sensitivity will be monitored. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 8.
