Description of proposed observations. During Cycle 2 '1213' AUGMENTATION time, we will use the FOS to explore the nuclear starburst regions of M83. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4. Justification of need for HST observations. The HST is necessary for access to the ultraviolet stellar wind features and for high angular resolution. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 7. Data reduction and analysis plans. FOS spectra of selected nuclear starburst regions will be analyzed in order to deduce the stellar content. We will use methods of spectral synthesis to match the observed wind features in the UV spectrum. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 13.
