Scientific Justification. Over the lifetime of GHRS operations it will be necessary to adjust the discriminator thresholds of isolated channels from time to time. A channel may show an increase in noise level which can be reduced by increasing the threshold. It will not always be necessary to run a full PHA, as a new value may be deduced from existing data or general experience.
