Description of proposed observations. The image of a bright star will be taken in the WFC for 3 different filters - F889N, F487N and F284W. 3 images will be taken with each filter at varying distances from the W1 field of view. The first set of images will have the star at the center of the W1 chip and an exposure will be taken with each filter in combination with the neutral density filter. This measurement will give the details of the point spread function (PSF). The S/N ratios at the center and at 2 arcsec from the center are listed below: F889N - S/N = 131, 2.8 F487N - S/N = 159, 3.2 F284W - S/N = 157, 4.1 The second set of images will be taken with the star in chip W2 at a distance of 2 arcsec from the edge of W1 (note: to maintain correlation with initial pointing, all POS TARGs are defined relative to W1). No neutral density filter will be used. This measurement gives details of the PSF from 2 arcsec to 4 arcsec. S/N ratios at 2 arcsec and 4 arcsec are given below: F889N - S/N = 154, 15.9 F487N - S/N = 169, 12.7 F284W - S/N = 169, 12.7 The last set of images will taken with the star in chip W2 at a distance of 4 arcsec from the edge of W1. No neutral density filter will be used. This measurement gives the details of the PSF from 4 arcsec to 40 arcsec. Expected S/N ratios at 4 and 40 arcsec are given below: F889N - S/N = 147, 1.5 F487N - S/N = 111, 4.8 F284W - S/N = 119, 15.5 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4.
