Description of proposed observations. This test shows that the proposed 10.2 updates to shield the HSP visual tubes from the glare of the lights on Broadway will in fact accomplish their mission. We fire up HSP/POL, HSP/VIS, and HSP/PMT and put them into the proposed protected state. Over the course of several orbits, we will see that the VFPITMON processor does not cause safing. Description of initialization activities: Det 1: ----- detector on, ----- HVPS at 1400V (zero program step), ----- GAIN = 10000 nanoamps, ----- Beam at 2000,600. Det 3: ----- detector on, ----- HVPS at 1400V (zero program step), ----- GAIN = 10000 nanoamps, ----- Beam at 1000,900. Det 5: ----- detector on, ----- HVPS at default voltage (G1.0), ----- BOP table DET5 word (VFMAXCUR+4) = 255. Target strategy: We will point at the antisun, to ensure much exposure to bright earth. We will take our data collections as fast as the scheduler will do them, thus ensuring a variety of collections, sometimes during bright earth, sometimes looking at the unocculted antisun. We have calculated the data collection length and the number of data collections so that doing them as fast as they can be scheduled is roughly equivalent to doing them evenly spaced over three orbits.
