Bohlin, and A. Holm. This program has the highest priority. Phases I to III must be completed before attempting observations of any other stellar targets. Scientific Justification. See Abstract. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 3. Description of proposed observations. Phase 1 of Aperture Locations will provide the location of the aperture in detector coordinates from observations of a flat field source that uniformly fills the apertures. The brightness of the source must be appropriate for the FOS camera MIRROR. The mean sizes of the FOS apertures are also determined from the relative throughput as long as the flat field source is constant over the time between aperture maps. Aperture maps of the TALEDs will be used. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 5. Description of special scheduling requirements. This proposal must be completed at least 4 days prior to proposal 1444, FOS-OV 110/111. The overlight limit must be set to the default value for non-mirror observations (80 million), even though the MIRROR is used. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 7. Data reduction and analysis plans. Data reduction will be performed at ST ScI, using FOS IDT computer hardware. The results of this aperture location calibration are relevant to the project data base, so that the priority is very high.
