Measurements of the Pt-Ne lamp will be obtained with both FOS digicons when other SI's are prime. These observations will be used to determine the wavelength scale for all disperser/detector combinations using the smallest apertures, as per CAL/FOS-48 (Oct. 1988) by Hartig. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 3. Description of proposed observations. Measurements of the Pt-Ne lamp will be obtained with both FOS detectors. The observation, taken through the smallest square (0.1-PAIR) and circular (0.3) apertures, will be used to determine accurate wavelength scales for all disperser/detector combinations. These observations should be repeated throughout the mission to check for stability. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 5. Description of special scheduling requirements. All observations are parallel. OV prerequisites: The completion of program 2188 (FOS/OV 62/72, Fine Y-Base measurements) at least 7 days prior to the observations in this proposal. If any observations are scheduled earlier than proposal 2748 - SAA Dark Measurements, then the observations MUST occur in non- SAA impacted orbits. If the observations are scheduled after 2748, there are no restrictions. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 6. Description of special calibration exposures. All observations are internal Pt-Ne lamp measurements. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 7. Data reduction and analysis plans. Data reduction will be performed at the ST ScI, and the analysis will be performed using FOS IDT computer facilities. This is a determination of the absolute wavelength scales for all valid disperser/detector combinations, and will therefore yield results which will need to be incorporated into the data reduction pipeline. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 10.
