Abstract This activity will provide data to assist in establishing the attitude of the ST and in establishing the FHST to FGS alignment by using each of the three FGSs to map their respective FOV's (65%). Adjust uplink modifiers for all 3 FGEs. Position the target star in the center of the FGS2 FOV. Acquire GS in FGS 2 & 3 coarse track. Command FGS1 to the first search point. Go into search mode. When a star is acquired, issue resume search. Let the process proceed until the FGS search radius limit is exceeded. Repeat the search process at four more points in FGS1. The analysis of the data for each search starting at a specific Theta A /Theta B combination should begin as soon as the data are accumulated; this process should not be delayed. Repeat the above process using FGS3 as the astrometry FGS. Repeat the above process using FGS2 as the astrometry FGS. The S/C position (i.e., target centered in the FGS2 FOV and roll angle) must be kept constant for the entire duration of the 15 searches performed with the three FGSs. PASS will compute attitude and FGS/FHST alignment. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 5. Description of special scheduling requirements. Real time telemetry is required so that an attitude can be computed in order to proceed with Bootstrap Phase A. FGS data and FHST data are required to be taken simultaneously. The FHSTs must be cycled during this observation to ensure that data are obtained from all 3 FHSTs, with at least 2 FHSTs being simultaneously at a time. Use resume search (AQ-03) for commanding for logsheet lines 1-5. "FHST MAP" used on logsheet line 5.5 is normal commanding. The FHST/FHST/FHST alignment activity (PEP id 1437) must have been successfully completed prior to the initiation of this activity. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 6. Description of special calibration exposures. Require 32 Kbps telemetry (format FN) for data takes. The FGE constants K6, K7, will be modified for the mapping process and must be returned to their default values at the completion of the activity. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 7. Data reduction and analysis plans. The data for each FGS will be reduced using the fine attitude determination software to provide data that can be used to determine a preliminary plate scale. Using this preliminary plate scale, the data will be reduced again to produce data that can be used to align the FGS and FHST relative to FGS2. These new alignments are then used when reducing the data a third time to form the final alignments which can be uplinked to HST. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 8.
