The justification for this test is to ensure that science data can be successfully generated and transmitted by the HSP. The verification of the HSP's ability to collect and transmit science data is critical in order to use it as a scientific instrument. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 3. Description of proposed observations. This is an internal test and does not require any external objects. The test is performed by executing the following steps: 1) Make the oldhold-to-newhold transition. Note that the High Volts are OFF during this entire test. 2) Turn on detector supply for detector 1 (POL). Using the HSP clock as a source of pulses, collect 10 msec samples for 6 minutes. Turn off the detector. 3) Make the newhold -to-oldhold transition. 4) Repeat steps 1-3 for the 4 remaining detectors. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 5. Description of special scheduling requirements. Tests iA, iB, and iC must be completed before this test is begun.
