Description of proposed observations. Observation: Execute a spiral search pattern centered on the initial pointing. Maps are generated at each dwell point and sent to OSS. The images are constructed and displayed and the observer will identify a target with a cursor. The maneuver required to center the selected star will be calculated and executed. A field map will verify that the target has been centered. A brief confirmation spectrum will follow. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 5. Description of special scheduling requirements. The basic purpose of the test is to verify Mode I realtime acquisition. Prequisites: HRS Mode II Target Acq. Data reduction and analysis plans. The main goal is to validate the software and procedures used in OSS to measure positions and calculate maneuvers. Analysis of the field map taken after the centering maneuver will tell how accurately the procedures worked. If the images is well centered, the test is a success. If not centered, the error will be measured and the source of the problem investigated. Updates to algorithms, parameters or data base entries may be necessary. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 8.
