Abstract A test will be performed to determine the scattered light properties of the OTA as a function of distance from the aperture. For the test, a bright star will be offset, along two orthogonal directions, by various amounts, and the light being scattered into the aperture measured. Description of proposed observations. In this test, we will step a bright star from the center of the FOS FOV out to 32" from the center, taking a G160L spectrum at each step. The bright star red leak test is performed in HRS test 17 (prop 1361). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 5. Description of special scheduling requirements. SV Prerequisites: Verification of mode II peak-up/down target acquisition modes (prop 2195). Minimum/Delta plan objects: All observations are SV minimum plan This activity can be accomplished in PCS Coarse Track mode, if necessary. Pointing stability of 10% of the smallest aperture used (1.0") - 0.1" stability is required. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 6. Description of special calibration exposures. This test is stray light sensitive, since we are measuring the faint light due to scattering. Dark time is therefore requested. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 7. Data reduction and analysis plans. Data reduction will be performed at the STScI, and the analysis will be performed using FOS IDT computer facilities. Although thi is a calibration, no data will need to be added to the PODPS pipeline. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 10.
